Animal testing is wrong. It is cruel, and harms many animals, to no benefit. Not only that, but animal testing takes up a lot of money. It is for nothing, too. The United States could be giving that money to, for example, researchers looking for the cure for cancer. However, they are spending the funds on animal torture. Though the people who run the experiments claim to be looking for cures, they are really just doing the tests out of mere curiosity.
Nowadays, there are many different ways to experiment, and they don't involve live animals. They are cheaper, and the results are more accurate. This is because animals' systems work differently, and they don't get the same diseases as humans. Therefore, there is no reason why the testing should continue. Some try to defend the testing, saying that medical schools dissect animals. However, as an article says, "95% of U.S. medical schools- including Yale, Harvard, and Stanford- do not use any animals to train medical students and experience with animal dissection or experimentation on live animals is not required or expected of those applying to medical school." Many people are protesting against the testing, going to extreme extents. Millions of dollars of damage are being caused from these protests, so the government will have to do something about the problem soon. This simply shows how strongly people disagree with the experiments. The experiments are immoral, and should be put to an end.
